Wow, haven't been on here for a while!!

The urban myth goes that the first words on the BBC television broadcast in June 1946, having suspended service from 1939 for the duration of the war, were, "As I was saying before we were so rudely interrupted ..."

The same could be said for this whole term and half that has flown by since September. It's a bit like a "Wow! what happened there?!" kind of moment.

Most of the Janury exams are out of the way, we have a few straggling exams which means the LRC will be out of action again for a short while. Nether-the-less, the barrage of exams have not deterred some of us keen readers and now that the storm has relented somewhat we can now begin to emerge again...if only for a short while.

Some great reads brought in recently; including some award winning or shortlisted titles. There have also been some classics added back (yes, back!) to our stock. Students can now access the likes of A Kestrel for a Knave, Trainspotting, and Of Mice and Men (which previously had been for the exclusive use of English Level 2 students for class work).

Did anyone catch the BBC drama Birdsong? If you thought that was great try the book!! It's on our shelves and is waiting to be read (not for the feignt hearted!)
